2018-2019 PTO Volunteer Information
All requirements must be completed before volunteering at Holy Trinity:
All information and forms can be found on www.charlottediocese.org under “Safe Environment.” Copies of PGC certificate and other required documents must be signed and on file at Holy Trinity. The Diocese has a record of volunteer completion of Protecting God’s Children and dates of background checks. Verification will be performed by the Holy Trinity Administration. 6th Grade Back to School Events: This committee of 7th and 8th grade parents welcomes rising 6th grade students and their families to the 6th Grade Open House and Welcome to HT events on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Responsibilities include distributing t-shirts, & name tags, answering questions, coordinating games and activities, etc.
8th Grade Graduation: 8th grade parents only. Plan the class of 2019's end of the year festivities: Mass, graduation ceremony, 8th grade luncheon and end of year party.
Bulldog Buddies: Be a point person for a “new to MACS” family. We will pair you with a new family. Please reach out and welcome them when they begin at HT and stay in touch throughout the year to answer their questions via email or phone.
Bulldog Pride Auction Committee: Volunteers are needed now (May - October) to help solicit items (HTCMS family and community donations) for the Bulldog Pride Online Auction. No experience necessary! Very flexible!
Bulldog Pride Food Truck Party Committee: Calling all party planners! Help us plan the Bulldog Pride Food Truck Friday Parent and Faculty Party! Our goal is to unite our parent community and faculty for a night of fun and fellowship in the fall and Kick Off our Bulldog Pride Online Auction.
Bulldog Pride Student Raffle – The students LOVE this Bulldog Pride tradition! The Student Raffle consists of 3 weeks of raffles - one prize per week per grade. Volunteers are needed 4 mornings in Sept/Oct to stuff packets & sort raffle tickets. Join us one morning or all!
Catholic Schools Week: Volunteers are needed to organize various activities and events during Catholic Schools Week: January 28-February 1, 2019. Time commitment = 1-5 hours for the year.
Communications Chair: Manage database of PTO member emails. Distribute communications in a timely manner from PTO Board members as needed. Interest or experience with social media a plus. Great opportunity for a tech savvy parent to help from home!
Health Room: Volunteers will assist the school nurse in the health room. Also help with the annual vision screening sessions.
Library: Volunteer 1-2 hours a month to help our librarian with shelving books as well as student check-in and checkout.
Lost and Found: Assistance is needed with sorting lost and found items throughout the school year.
Staff/Teacher Christmas Goodies: Volunteers bring a bit of Christmas cheer to our faculty and staff by providing individually wrapped sweet treats (homemade or store-bought), as well as small gift items & gift cards which are then boxed and presented at the staff Christmas luncheon.
Teacher Appreciation Week: A fun opportunity for creative parents. Members of this committee will plan and execute various activities during our themed Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring. In the past, we have held daily raffles and a luncheon for the teachers and staff.
Teacher Snacks: Once a month, volunteers provide our teachers with a light breakfast and other refreshments and snacks in the teacher’s lounge.
Team Parents (Grades 6-8): At-Home opportunity: We will be organizing 4 homeroom breakfasts in 2018-2019. We are looking for parents to manage Sign Up Genius(es) for 3-4 homeroom breakfasts for their team’s four homerooms. Parents will also be on-call for team communications as needed by the team-leader. Names for teams with more than one volunteer will go into a random drawing to be held in September. More information on this committee to be published closer to first day of school.
Used Uniforms: Volunteers are needed to assist with organizing donated uniforms for sales during the school year and once in the summertime.
